Coriander Flavors Of India
Indian cuisine has a very distinct kick. Signature dishes like curry are jam-packed with potent spices. The uniqueness of Indian fare is a large reason why it’s become so popular. Coriander Flavors of India specializes in authentic Indian cuisine.
Coriander serves a healthy mix of Vegetarian Specialties, Tandoori dishes, Oven Hot Breads and more. They also have a very extensive Beer and Wine menu. This restaurant is extremely casual and lets guests order any item for takeaway. Coriander also caters for special events.
Denver Biscuit Co.
Creativity plays a big part in Denver’s food scene. Most Denver dishes are essentially new twists on old classics. If you’re fortunate enough to have dinner at someone’s home, you might be able to eat an authentic home-cooked Denver meal.
If you don’t get an invite, stop by the Denver Biscuit Co. This renowned chain of restaurants offers gourmet quality Denver meals that make comfort food a true delight. Biscuits are naturally the centrepiece of their menu, specifically Biscuit Sandwiches and Biscuit Plates.
DiCicco’s
Americans love Italian food; spaghetti and meatballs, ravioli, and even a slice of pizza are all dishes that hail from Italy. DiCicco’s brings genuine Italian flavours to Denver. They pride themselves on bringing “a little bit of Italy” to the Mile-High City.
Everything about DiCicco’s is authentic. The decor invokes Italian ristorantes from the 1950s, as does the music and the menu. Come in for lunch, and you can order appetizers like their Mezzo Mezzo Plate. Stop by for dinner and order Angel Hair Genova, Mama’s Pizza, or DiCicco’s Original Calzone.
Elway’s
Steak is the ultimate fine dining dish, in our opinion; nothing sets the mood like a medium-rare 12 oz Ribeye. Honestly, it’s not too difficult to find good steaks in Denver. You can probably cook up something tasty on your own. Finding great steaks is another matter.
Elway’s Steakhouses would be your best bet. Elway’s has several restaurants open in Denver, including a scenic venue Downtown. They are second to none when it comes to delicious steak, and they’re also lauded for their spectacular Brunch menu.
Village Inn
Old School restaurants have a special place in our hearts. Doubly so when an establishment has been around for decades. The Village Inn has been in business since 1958. Over the years, they’ve earned a reputation for being one of the best breakfast spots in the city.
The Village Inn was known as a pancake house back then. Even after all these years, their hotcakes still taste amazing. The Village Inn is located on Tower Road. Many travellers have stopped by over the years. All of them have raved about this restaurant’s food.
High Plains Diner
Whether you’re on a business trip or you’re visiting family, there’s one word that all aeroplane commuters dread — layover. Sometimes a flight gets held up for 30 minutes. Other times, flights can get held up overnight. At least you’ll have time to visit High Plains Diner.
This popular eatery is located 30 minutes from Denver International. High Plains Diner is deceptively humble; this “small-town restaurant” offers big flavour. Order a Patty Melt or Fish and Chips and enjoy this old-school restaurant’s friendly atmosphere.
Moonlight Diner
Speaking of retro establishments, we have to talk about the Moonlight Diner. Everything about this place oozes the 1950s. The design of the restaurant, the items on the menu — heck, they even have vintage neon signs. The Moonlight Diner is a true blast from the past.
American diners always offer hearty, filling meals. Moonlight does the same; their menu is split between breakfast options, soups & salads, burgers, and a zesty BBQ menu. You can even order “Dessert for Breakfast” if you’ve got a sweet tooth.
Grill And Vine
Spending your layover on-site? Airport food can be very hit or miss. Even if you stop by a famous fast-food restaurant, the quality can be way off the mark. That isn’t the case with Grill and Vine; this establishment brings high-quality dining to the Denver International Airport.
Grill and Vine is located at the Hotel Westin. The menu consists of many American dishes, such as:
- Jalapeno-Bison Sausage & Potato Flatbread
- Oven Roasted Chicken Breast
- Grilled Portobello Sandwich
Grill and Vine serve breakfast, lunch, and dinner. Basically, there’s never a bad time to visit.
Root Down
Locavore cuisine consists of dishes made with locally sourced ingredients. Usually, you’ll find one or two Locavore restaurants in a city. The airport is the last place you’d expect to find food of this quality. That’s what makes Root Down such a pleasant surprise.
Root Down is awesome for a myriad of reasons. The eatery’s name is a tribute to Jimmy Smith and Beastie Boys, it’s located near the DIA main terminal, and its atmosphere is one of a kind. American dishes with “a global twist” are on offer, including their famous Beef Burger. They also have a location in Denver if you are heading out from the airport.
Timberline Steaks & Grille
It’s crazy to think how many full-service restaurants are located at the Denver International Airport. We’d typically never recommend ordering steak from an airport restaurant. Then again, there’s nothing typical about Timberline Steaks & Grille.
The menu is very extensive here and jam-packed with classic Denver dishes. You can order Rocky Mountain Oysters, a Steak Quesadilla, or a plate of Devils on Horseback. If you’ve never had Denver cuisine before, Timberline isn’t a bad place to start.
