On our recent trip to Boston and New York, we decided to stop in Newport Rhode Island for a few days. This picturesque town with its yacht-lined harbour, colonial buildings and cute gift shops, is known for the mansions of the gilded age, where the wealthiest families in America used to come for the Summer. It’s a beautiful town, well worth visiting, and our base for our stay was The Attwater Hotel.
