Top Ten Things To Do In Las Vegas With Kids

Las Vegas with Kids

Las Vegas is often thought as an adult playground, but there are lots of things for kids to do as well. Here is my list of the top ten family friendly activities that you can do with your kids in Las Vegas.

Top Ten Things To Do In Las Vegas With Kids

1. Ride The Rollercoaster At  New York New York

The Big Apple coaster, at the New York, New York hotel is great for teenagers, featuring a 180 degree twist and dive manoeuvre. Inside the hotel there are also a variety of arcade and video games that are family friendly.

2. Visit The Discovery Childrens Museum

This three storey museum is full of interactive exhibits exploring science, arts and culture. Kids of every age (and adults!) are in for a treat and it’s a great way to spend half a day out of the heat.

3. Be Amazed At The Theatre

From the Blue Man Group to Mystere by Cirque Du Soleil, to the Mac King Comedy Magic show, there are a variety of excellent family friendly shows in Vegas.

The Bellagio Fountains Las Vegas

4. Watch The Fountain Show At The Bellagio

This world famous music, light and water show is amazingly choreographed and mesmerising to watch. Best of all it’s free as well.

5. Experience The Shark Reef At Mandalay Bay

The Shark Reef Aquarium is home to over 2000 marine animals from sharks to giant rays, endangered sea turtles and the rare golden crocodile. An experience all the family will love.

The Grand Canyon Helipopter Trip

6. Ride Over The Grand Canyon In A Helicopter

This once in a lifetime experience is on many adults bucket list and children will love it too. See the Hoover Dam from the sky and touch down in the Grand Canyon for a picnic lunch before flying back over the Las Vegas strip on your return.

7. Take A Trip To The Adventuredome At Circus Circus

With 5 acres of indoor fun including some great rides and a FX theatre showing a special Spongebob Squarepants show in 4D, children of all ages will really enjoy some time spent here.

Las Vegas Gondolas in the Venitian

8. Ride A Gondola At The Venetian

The Venetian hotel is a sight to behold with it’s many shops, twilight indoor setting and a replica of St Mark’s Square in Venice.  Glide beneath bridges, and float through the canals as you are serenaded by your gondolier, whilst you take in Venice – Las Vegas style.

9. Spend Time At The Pools

Las Vegas hotels have some fantastic pools. The MGM hotel, for example has 4 pools, a lazy river and cave like grottos to explore. Don’t forget to cover the kids up with a rash vest, hat and plenty of sunblock as temperatures can be scorching especially in the height of summer.

10. Scare Yourself Silly At The Top Of The Stratosphere

For the bravest of teenagers, the rides at the top of the Stratosphere hotel are not to be missed. Big Shot, X-Scream and Insanity rides are full on, heart thumping rides for the thrill seekers in your family.

So this is a list of my top ten things to do in Las Vegas for kids of all ages. Tell me which of these activities would appeal to your kids? Have you ever been to Las Vegas?

Its strange because I never saw Las Vegas as a kid friendly resort but you have proven me wrong. I love the idea of going there just for the kid friendly attractions.

I’ve never fancied going to Las Vegas but I do think it would make a good base for exploring other regions too and some of your ‘kids’ things to do look like great fun.

MGM Grand is a good hotel as it has a great pool area, Cirque du Soleil and Rainforest Cafe. Mandalay Bay also has a great pool area with a wave pool and a lazy river as well as the Shark Reef Aquarium. Other than that perhaps Circus Circus or New York, New York.

Oh I’d so love to go back to Vegas! I remember watching the fountain show at the Bellagio and I was so impressed, I was quite young though which is why I’d love to go back.
